The Challenge
Inbound activities previously relied on paper-based kanban records and required pallets to be scanned individually after being transported by forklift. This additional process increased handling time and made inbound operations less efficient. Specific pallet placement locations were also not systematically recorded, limiting warehouse visibility.
Ravelware Solution
Ravelware implemented a mobile RFID Reader system mounted on forklifts to automate pallet identification during material movement. RFID-tagged pallets are detected automatically when the forklift approaches or handles them, eliminating the need for operators to scan each pallet individually.
Operational Impact
With RFID-enabled forklifts, inbound processing becomes faster and more efficient by reducing manual scanning activities. Automated pallet detection also improves traceability and helps warehouse teams gain better visibility over material movements during receiving and putaway processes.
